Editorial standards and corrections
Last updated: 2026-10-08Evidence before publication
A useful article should answer a reader's question, not just repeat a show's promotional description. We prefer official catalogues for availability and premises, original company announcements for announced plans, and named research providers for estimates. Each sourced article links its evidence and records when that evidence was checked.
Catalogue analysis is not a viewing review
Our current show pages discuss official premises and provide questions readers can use during their own viewing. They do not award performance scores or claim full-series viewing. A future firsthand review must identify what was watched, the viewing date, platform and regional limitations. We do not invent reviewers, viewing notes or testimonials.
Analysis, estimates and tools
Interpretation is labelled as analysis. Industry estimates are dated and their measurement limits explained; a company's plan is not reported as a completed result. Calculator examples are hypothetical, not current app prices. Offers and catalogue access can change by region, account and date.
AI and illustrations
AI assistance is used for drafting, rewriting and site development. It is not a source of evidence about a show or a market. Public pages must still support factual claims with identifiable sources. The byline “PlotBite” names the publishing project, not a fictional critic. Covers are illustrative graphics rather than official stills or proof of viewing.
What our dates mean
On 8 October 2026 we corrected our date labels. The earlier 22 September date came from imported seed records, with a preset hour; it is not independently verified evidence of each article's first publication. We retain those records privately but no longer present them as verified publication dates or include them as datePublished in structured data.
“Content updated” records a substantive revision, not a deployment or a routine technical change. The current collection was substantively revised on 7 October 2026 in a documented batch release, so its shared update date is intentional. This date-label correction does not make those articles newly written on 8 October.
“Sources checked” records verification of linked evidence on 6 or 7 October; it does not claim publication, full-series viewing or that an app's current offers remain unchanged. “First published” will be shown only when independent dated evidence supports it. Until then we explicitly mark that date as unverified. We use calendar-day precision when an actual publication or revision hour is unknown; we do not invent times or stagger dates.
Corrections and withdrawn pages
Our 6 October 2026 review removed unsupported ratings and viewing claims from the current published collection. In particular, the previous Breaking the Ice article described a figure-skating revenge plot inconsistent with ReelShort's listing. Its replacement identifies the catalogue premise and does not retain the old rating or view count.
On 7 October 2026 we withdrew seventeen insufficiently verified older articles from publication. Their former URLs return HTTP 410 with a withdrawal notice, rather than a successful page containing an empty review shell. Originals are retained privately for research; withdrawal does not verify their former claims. They are excluded from listings, search and the sitemap. Automatic publication remains disabled until individual drafts pass source and usefulness checks.
On 7 October 2026, we replaced the unsupported production-pipeline article with a documented adaptation source check. We also removed unverified PineDrama coin-system, audience and competitive-outcome claims, replacing them with dated official-document analysis. These pages are not firsthand app tests or book-and-series reviews. A correction to two pages does not verify the remaining held collection.
To report a correction, send the page URL, the disputed passage and a reliable source through Contact. There is no automatic email delivery or guaranteed turnaround; messages need operator review.
Our current tools separate hypothetical arithmetic from observed offers and personal notes. A blank notebook is not a completed viewing record. Notes prepared by visitors are their own unverified material, not published PlotBite reviews. We do not infer actual viewing from filling in a form.
Commercial disclosure
Display ads are currently disabled. Ownership verification is separate from ad serving. If advertising or sponsored material is introduced, the site must disclose it and implement the required consent controls before activation.
